Vice President, Corporate Security

Summary

Join Oscar as their Vice President, Corporate Security and develop a comprehensive security strategy encompassing physical assets, personnel, and diverse security functions. Manage a team, collaborate with senior leadership and the Cyber Security team, and report to the Chief People Officer. This onsite role in the New York office offers a competitive salary ($232,000 - $304,500), unlimited vacation, equity grants, and annual performance bonuses. The position requires extensive experience in physical security, law enforcement, and corporate security management, along with team leadership skills. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in physical security or law enforcement (federal, state, and/or local)
• 10+ years of experience in a corporate senior security or complex investigation management role
• 5+ years leading teams
• Demonstrated knowledge of security protocols, and risk management
• Experience with security technologies and systems

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate physical security strategy that aligns with the company’s mission and business goals
• Establish and communicate comprehensive security policies and procedures to guide the organization in preventing, detecting, and responding to security incidents
• Lead and inspire a team of security professionals, fostering a culture of security awareness and excellence throughout the company
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during security incidents to ensure effective resolution and communication
• Support the development and implementation of crisis management and business continuity plans, training, and exercising
• Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures to address potential threats
• Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across all company operations and locations
• Stay informed about changes in regulations and adjust security strategies accordingly
• Work closely with other departments (e.g., Legal, compliance, cyber security, IT, etc.) to integrate security considerations into business processes and projects
• Develop and manage the security department’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
• Optimize resource utilization to achieve security objectives
• Coordinate with law enforcement in response to incidents and crises
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies during investigations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Lead and manage investigations into security breaches, theft, fraud, workplace violence, and other incidents that may threaten the organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience working with cybersecurity tools
