Join Cynch.ai, a Series A startup revolutionizing accounting with AI, as its Vice President, Operations. This role reports to the CEO and involves shaping the company's operational strategy, scaling operations, building a global delivery system for tax and accounting services, aligning business and technology, ensuring compliance, and fostering a strong company culture. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience leading a 30+ person operations team, expertise in designing scalable global business processes (preferably in a regulated industry), and exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. The location is preferably in the Bay Area, but hybrid options are available.
Requirements
- Proven Leadership – At least 5 years of experience leading a 30+ person operations and/or service delivery team across multiple geographies
- Operational Excellence – Experience designing, implementing and operating highly scalable, global business processes for a highly regulated and people-intensive industry (preferably tax or accounting, but open to other industries, such as insurance, healthcare, fintech or legal tech)
- Exceptional Communication – Ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Great listener with the ability to distill complicated inputs from diverse stakeholders. Strong executive presence and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Adaptability & Problem-Solving – Comfort with ambiguity, hypergrowth, and navigating uncharted territory in AI-driven accounting
- Data-Driven Decision Making - Ability to develop and manage dashboards, KPIs, and operational analytics to inform strategy and performance
Responsibilities
- Shape Strategy & Scale Operations – Work closely with the CEO to define and execute Cynch.ai’s vision, operations strategy, and hiring plans. Define and execute strategic plans to scale operations, improve customer satisfaction, and increase operational efficiency
- Build & Operate Our Delivery System – Build and operate the global system (people, process and technology) to acquire customers and deliver scalable, innovative, extensible and high quality tax and accounting services to our clients. This is expected to be an iterative system, subject to continuous measurement and improvement
- Align Business & Technology – Partner with engineering, product, and other stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with business needs
- Ensure Compliance & Risk Management – Oversee compliance with tax, data security, and financial regulations while managing operational risk
- Foster a Strong Culture & Talent Strategy – Attract top talent, build a high-performing team, and create an inclusive, engaging workplace
