Summary
Join Chamberlain University as a Visiting Professor and share your expertise with undergraduate and graduate students. This part-time, course-by-course position involves developing and teaching online courses in Sociology (SOCS185 - Culture and Society). The ideal candidate possesses a PhD or Master's degree in a relevant social science field and significant online teaching experience. Requirements
- PhD or masters degree with a major in Sociology, Social Work, Social Science, American studies, Gender studies, or Ethnics required
- Possess genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
- Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care

Responsibilities
- Develops and provides students with an approved Chamberlain University syllabus that follows a template and includes the terminal course objectives
- Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials
- Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students
- Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning
- Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories
- Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives
- Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students
- Completes other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Preferred Qualifications
Have at least 15-credit hours of online higher education teaching experience
Benefits
Compensation is between $850/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidateβs education and experience
