Summary
Join Chamberlain College of Nursing as a Part-Time Nursing Faculty member and teach online BSN nursing courses. You will act as a facilitator, role model, coach, and advisor for students, incorporating the Chamberlain Care philosophy. Responsibilities include course preparation, technological integration, effective communication, and course management. A Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or higher, unencumbered compact licensure, and 2+ years of teaching experience are required. The pay rate is between $715 and $1950 per earned credit hour, depending on experience and education. Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or higher is required
- Unencumbered Compact licensure is required
- Unencumbered Illinois RN licensure will be required to teach all courses
- 2+ years' experience teaching didactic nursing courses for a college or university is required
- Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills
- Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply
Responsibilities
- Provide students with a Chamberlain University approved syllabus that follows the established template and includes terminal course objectives
- Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials
- Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads
- Use appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students
- Model effective oral and written communications that engage students, provide clarity, and improve student learning
- Is available for remediation of students as required or needed
- Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight distribution of various evaluation categories
- Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives
- Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students
- Complete other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience with an online learning platform such as Canvas is preferred
