Summary

Join Ballotpedia's Spring 2025 Volunteer Fellows Program and contribute to our data-driven analysis of American politics. The program runs from February 3rd to April 4th, 2025, requiring 5-10 hours per week of flexible work. Fellows will conduct research on local officeholders and candidates for upcoming 2025 elections. Successful applicants will receive a nationally recognized service honor. The application deadline is January 20th, 2025. Apply online with your resume and cover letter.

Requirements

• Love politics and be passionate about Ballotpedia’s mission to provide American voters with unbiased, factual information
• Be a strong self-starter and thrive in a self-directed environment
• Believe that data science is fascinating
• Love research
• Believe that every voter deserves quality information before voting, no matter the level of government
• Have access to a computer or laptop and a reliable internet connection

Responsibilities

• Work hand-in-hand with staff to expand data-driven analysis of American politics
• Conduct research of local officeholders and candidates for upcoming 2025 local elections
• Build out more complete candidate profiles on Ballotpedia using the same research standards used for full-time staff
• Ensure that the content is accurate and complete after conducting research on candidates' attributes
