Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership, specifically in SaaS
- Deep expertise in SaaS metrics, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and unit economics
- Expert in financial modeling, FP&A, budgeting, and strategic planning
- Strong GAAP knowledge (CPA preferred) and experience with financial systems/automation
- Demonstrated ability to lead M&A due diligence and fundraising processes
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
- Strategic business partner capable of influencing executive and board-level decisions
- Excellent communication, presentation, and team leadership abilities
- Adept at cash flow management and navigating a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute financial strategy for sustainable growth
- Serve as strategic partner to CEO and executive team
- Own and manage comprehensive financial models and forecasts
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Define, track, and analyze key SaaS metrics; provide actionable insights
- Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders
- Oversee all accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Maintain audit-ready state and coordinate external audits
- Ensure GAAP compliance
- Manage AR/AP, optimizing billing and collections
- Lead cash flow and treasury management; optimize working capital
- Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives
- Manage payment processing service offering
- Oversee payroll & benefits; optimize compensation strategy
- Lead or support fundraising efforts (debt/equity)
- Ensure strict compliance with lender covenants and reporting deadlines
- Manage investor and lender relationships
- Lead M&A analysis, due diligence, and financial integration
- Prepare board packs and financial updates for investors
- Maintain equity capitalization tables
- Communicate financial performance to external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations (ASC 606), tax laws, and minimum insurance requirements
- Establish and implement robust internal controls and policies
- Conduct risk assessments; mitigate financial risks
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team
- Lead initiatives to upgrade and automate finance systems (ERP, FP&A)
- Implement tools and processes to enhance efficiency and reporting
- Collaborate with legal on financial terms in contracts (customer, vendor, partner)
- Contract review and negotiation support (customer, vendor, partner)
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional qualifications as either a CPA, MBA, or CFA Charterholder
- Familiarity with startups, venture capital, private equity, and M&A
