VP of Finance

Summary

Join Blockworks, a leading financial media brand, as our VP of Finance. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing all financial strategies, including P&L and cash flow management. You will work closely with other leaders to leverage financial data for decision-making and drive bottom-line results. You will also oversee investor relations, ensure legal compliance, and proactively manage cash flow. Requirements

• Have a deep-seated understanding of leading finance for a 50-150+ size company in the early stages of a fast-growing software or crypto startup
• Have several years of direct experience building and leading the Financial function for high-growth technology or crypto startups
• Have hands-on experience leading finance, ideally in the crypto industry
• Have developed and maintained robust partnerships with business leaders
• Consider yourself a teacher and educator who helps grow the financial awareness of those you partner with
• Be an expert at proactively leveraging data in decision-making and never miss an opportunity to bring facts and modeling to decision-making
• Be a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, and always look to share insights or educate
• Be detail-oriented and love to operate in a highly autonomous environment

Responsibilities

• Develop, solicit feedback, educate, and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with Blockwork's overall goals and growth objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial planning, financial analysis, and accounting
• Work alongside other leaders to help inject financial data into their decision-making processes
• Leverage your experience running finance within startups to help allocate resources, drive bottom-line results, and make faster and better-informed decisions
• Conduct detailed financial modeling and scenario analysis to inform strategy, make better decisions, and avoid operational risk
• Ensure accurate and timely financial and operational reporting metrics
• Communicate financial and operational reporting metrics succinctly to relevant stakeholders and ensure that they drive impact
• Work to ensure all board requests and critical information are addressed promptly and succinctly
• Communicate succinct updates on financial performance to the leadership and company
• Oversee all cash flow management, optimizing working capital, liquidity, and capital allocation to support ongoing operations and future growth
• Design, implement, and evolve the foundation of our financial operations to ensure legal compliance as we grow

Preferred Qualifications

• Have an in-depth background in raising funds and the supporting processes
• Have experience with a token launch and a desire to repeat this journey
• Have experience successfully partnering with leaders to grow the financial operations and revenue of an organization on a global scale
