Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • 12-16 years of transportation drainage experience
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • A track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize, work on, and advance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Thorough understanding of state, regional, and special district design standards
  • Experience developing stormwater management plans and water quality design/MS4
  • Experience with plan production related to transportation projects
  • Experience developing deliverables per DOT or DOT standards and requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydraulic and hydrology (H&H) analyses and design for transportation projects
  • Prepare drainage reports in conformance with client and industry standards
  • Assist with plan production related to drainage design, stormwater management, and detention facilities, water quality/MS4, quantities, and specifications
  • Contribute to project goals and milestones and monitor project progress
  • Assist in the preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, studies, reports, construction drawings/plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of stormwater design and planning projects
  • Ensure the development of high-quality engineering documents
  • Adhere to all internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project tracking
  • Assist with project pursuits

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE License
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with an emphasis on rational method and TR-55 design methodologies
  • Experience with plan production software including AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads
  • Experience with programs such as: HY-8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM, StormCAD, CivilStorm, Watershed Modeling System (WMS), Surface Modeling System (SMS)/SRH-2D, FHWA Hydraulic Toolbox, CUHP, FLO-2D, Mile High Flood District spreadsheet tools
