Summary

Destructoid is hiring a Weekend Editor for their remote newsroom. The editor will supervise writers by editing copy, optimizing content, providing input on coverage direction, and occasionally writing articles. Applicants must provide a resume, writing samples, and a cover letter explaining their gaming expertise and communication skills. Requirements include extensive writing experience, passion for the gaming industry, understanding of SEO and publishing practices, excellent English communication skills, availability to work eight-hour shifts on weekends, ability to write articles, and proficiency using WordPress, social media, and other blogging tools. Nice-to-have qualities are experience as an editor and ability to provide constructive criticism.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a writer for similar publications
• Passion for, and deep understanding of the gaming industry and its audience
• Understanding of SEO and best publishing practices
• Excellent English and strong communication skills, with a proven track record as a copy editor
• Availability to work eight hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays
• Ability to write articles as necessary
• Proficiency using WordPress, social media, and other blogging tools

Benefits
