Summary
Join DECA Games as a Legal Working Student (Werkstudent) and support our in-house Legal Counsel. This remote position, open to candidates in Germany, offers hands-on legal experience in the gaming industry. You will conduct contract reviews, perform legal research, assist with contract management, review player-facing documents, monitor legal updates, and participate in marketing material reviews. The ideal candidate is enrolled in a European law program, preferably in Germany, and possesses strong legal research and analytical skills. Excellent English communication is essential, and additional language skills are a plus. Requirements
- Enrolled in a law program in Europe, preferably in Germany, ideally in your 6th semester
- Strong legal research and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and summarize complex legal topics
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken β English is our primary working language
- High level of attention to detail, reliability, and discretion when handling sensitive information
- Comfortable working independently in a remote setting, with proactive communication and strong time management skills
Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary review of contracts such as NDAs, service agreements, and licensing terms
- Perform legal research on topics including intellectual property, consumer protection, GDPR/data privacy, and digital law relevant to the gaming industry
- Assist with contract management, including organizing templates, tracking signatures, and maintaining the contract database
- Help review terms of service, privacy policies, and other player-facing legal documents
- Monitor and report on legal and regulatory updates that may affect Decaβs operations across various jurisdictions
- Participate in the review of marketing and user acquisition materials for legal compliance (e.g. ad guidelines, disclosures)
- Take on ad hoc tasks and projects as needed by the Legal Counsel β no two weeks are exactly the same!
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior working experience in a legal, business, or tech environment is a plus
- German and/or Chinese language skills are a plus
