Summary
Join New Era Technology as a Senior Wireless Network Architect to design and implement enterprise wireless networks. You will have 10+ years of relevant experience in wireless (Wi-Fi, cellular) network infrastructures and work with a team designing and deploying wireless infrastructure. Global Financial Services, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, or Managed Services experience is preferred. Responsibilities include developing engineering solutions, gathering requirements, proposing solutions, developing designs, preparing statements of work, recommending enhancements, identifying emerging technologies, designing networks with Cisco/Meraki/Aruba, determining hardware requirements, using Ekahau/Air Magnet, providing guidance on wireless surveys, providing oversight for configuration and maintenance, troubleshooting, creating documentation, training engineers, and working with cellular wireless technologies. A Bachelor's degree and relevant certifications are preferred. The position offers full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k match, and 28 PTO days. The work environment is remote.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all customer contacts
- Experience preparing SOW and BOMs
- Experience with Cisco 9800, 8500 and 5500 WLCโs
- Experience using Cisco Prime and Mobility Search Engine (MSE)
- Familiarity with Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) design
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center and Cisco Spaces
- Experience designing and deploying Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) for secure wireless network access
- Knowledge of Wireless RF design concepts
- Knowledge of Cisco IOS/AirOS configuration and troubleshooting across multiple platforms
- Knowledge of 802.11a/g/n/ac/ax, Cisco WLC, WCS, CAPWAP, LWAP; be able to use tools such as Cisco Catalyst Center, Prime Infrastructure, AirMagnet Spectrum, Ekahau to design and support WLANS
- Knowledge of L2/L3 and wireless security features including access-lists, VACLS, firewalls, WPA, TKIP, CCKM, LEAP, etc
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9k, 4k, 3k, 2k series switch platforms
- Experience with interoperability/integration with network security, cloud platforms
- Through understanding IP concepts including routing, VRF, VXLAN, VLAN, QoS and capacity management concepts
- Ability to analyze and design network systems to achieve efficient and secure operation
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, including packet-level traffic analysis
- Bachelor's degree in related technical/business areas
- 10+ yearsโ experience with enterprise Secure Wireless network design and deployment with Cisco/Aruba technologies
- English
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
- Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling
- Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools (e.g., phone, video conferencing)
- Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen
- Full-time position working 40 hours per week
- Overtime may be required
- Travel is required, but only occasionally, and is less than 10%
Responsibilities
- Develop engineering solutions and explain technologies to customers
- Gather requirements and propose solutions including hardware and engineering services
- Provide recommendations on viability, implementation strategies and optimal implementation of solutions
- Develop design and system configuration based on technical requirements
- Prepare statement of work (SOWโs), level of effort and bill of materials (BOMโs) for projects
- Recommend enhancements/changes to system design as appropriate
- Identify, research, evaluate and implement emerging wireless technologies
- Design networks with Cisco/Meraki/Aruba WLAN controllers and over thousands of AP over multiple locations
- Determine switching, routing, firewall and wireless hardware requirements
- Experience using Ekahau/Air Magnet Survey and Spectrum Analyzer, analyzing collected RF data to determine cell boundaries, AP power settings, and noise and interference sources
- Provide guidance on wireless survey criteria and review/validate surveys performed by team members
- Provide oversight for configuration, installation and maintenance
- Provide assistance with troubleshooting and documenting issues
- Create standard deployment and support documentation to be handed over to the operations group
- Train deployment/field engineers for on-site deployment/troubleshooting
- Experience with Cellular Wireless with Private 5G/4G, in building cellular, small cell and CBRS technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in large enterprise networks is desired
- The ability to work under pressure and interface with senior management will be key to these roles
- Cellular wireless (5G, 4G, Small Cell, CBRS) design/implementation/support experience is a plus
- Cellular wireless (5G, 4G, Small Cell, CBRS) design/implementation/support experience is a plus
- Current Cisco data networking certifications i.e. CCNP, CCIE strongly preferred
- Aruba Wireless Certifications
- Ekahau and/or AirMagnet Professional Certifications a plus
