Workday Integrations and Functional Developer

Summary

Join VirtualResource (VR), a boutique consultancy, as an experienced Workday Integrations and Functional Developer. You will design, build, test, and deploy integration solutions, supporting functional configurations across Workday modules. This role requires strong technical and functional expertise in Workday integrations and a minimum of 5 years of experience. You will collaborate with clients and teams, create system specifications, manage deliverables, and troubleshoot issues. The position is fully remote, based in the EU or UK, requiring excellent communication and time management skills. Requirements

• Min of 5+ years of Workday Integrations developmental experience
• Strong understanding of Workday Modules (eg., HCM, Payroll)
• 5 years of combined experience developing and delivering technical solutions in a corporate environment
• 5+ years of experience in the application of modern integration technologies (EDI, Web Services, XML, XSLT, Java, .Net, middleware)
• Experience leading Integration design, and Process alignment
• Experience in designer and developer related roles with demonstrated ability to deliver coded integration work to a production environment
• Detailed understanding of ERP System concepts and general module functionality
• Proven ability to map HR or Business needs to workday functionality
• Proven Experience with Excel, Visio, MS Project (or equivalent) and PowerPoint
• Proven ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams including business users and other technology teams
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
• Ability to communicate effectively (in English) with cross-functional teams, explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms, align HR / business knowledge with Workday functionality, and proactively drive process improvements
• Comfortable with video calls and be proactive in keeping communication channels open with your client and team

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, test, and deploy integrations solutions for customers. (e.g., EIBs, Studio, APIs)
• Collaborate with clients and teams to understand business requirements and deliver tailored Workday solutions
• Create detailed system interface specifications, field mapping, and system process designs
• Creating and maintaining custom reports and dashboards
• Manage integration deliverables across multiple projects and maintain timelines
• Troubleshoot issues, track risks, and escalate concerns to project management as needed
• Guide clients on integration strategies and Workday best practices
• Mentor and coach team members on Workday integration development
• Coordinate cross-functional implementation tasks, including creating and managing project plans
• Engage where appropriate in the sales cycle to help scope integration projects
• Support functional configurations for Workday business processes and provide technical expertise during implementation

Preferred Qualifications

• College or University Degree in HR or Information Systems
• Workday Integration Certification is a plus
• Experience with Workday Extend
• Certifications in related technologies or project management (e.g., PMP, Agile) are advantageous
• Experience with any of the following: Java, JavaScript, .NET, XSLT, NetBeans IDE development background
