Summary
Join Discord's sales team as a founding Account Executive for the new Quests ads business line, focusing on the mobile gaming market. You will be instrumental in developing our ad product offerings and building a significant, recurring revenue stream. This role requires 6+ years of ad sales experience in the gaming industry, specifically in building new business with major players. You will generate revenue by partnering with game publishers and studios, provide strategic insights internally, build consultative client partnerships, and demonstrate industry thought leadership. The total annual target compensation is $255k - $300k OTE, plus equity and benefits. This is a US-based position.
Requirements
- 6+ years of direct experience in ad sales in the gaming industry, specifically in building new business from scratch with major players in the gaming sector
- Proven experience in delivering against account and revenue goals, specifically with building new mobile business
- Experience in building relationships with top marketing decision-makers at game publishers and their agencies
- Ability to analyze data and identify insights to assess campaign performance, and proactively troubleshoot and problem-solve quickly and through the proper escalation channels
- Experience working internally with crossfunctional partners to influence product development and processes
- Willingness to travel for regional in-person client meetings
Responsibilities
- Generate Revenue: Drive new partnerships with game publishers, studios, and their media agencies to build new and repeatable revenue streams for Discordโs emerging mobile ads business. Prospect and source new opportunities, navigate client needs against Discordโs offerings, and negotiate and close business deals
- Internal Strategic Insights: Work collaboratively and cross functionally with internal teams to bring strategic recommendations for the product road map. Work with teammates within the sales function to build and enhance scalable processes for the growing ads business
- Consultative Client Partnerships: Work with clients to identify their marketing needs, and develop strategic proposals that deliver value against those needs. Build and deepen long-term, strategic relationships with senior decision makers across the gaming segment
- Industry Thought Leadership: Demonstrate expertise around the gaming, media, marketing, and advertising spaces to clients, within Discord, and in industry forums
