Summary

Join Mixpanel's Operational Finance team as an Accountant and contribute to the accurate and timely creation of financial statements. You will be responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, reviewing invoices and expense reports, and performing monthly/quarterly/annual closing activities. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, 2-3 years of relevant experience, strong communication and Excel skills, and experience with NetSuite or a similar system. The ideal candidate will also possess strong analytical skills and a high level of integrity. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Moderate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with NetSuite or equivalent
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated the highest level of integrity in all situations
  • Strong analytical skills and is a self-starter

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record journal entries for various expense and balance sheet accounts such as monthly accruals, reclass entries and depreciation
  • Maintain and reconcile several balance sheet accounts such as liability and/or fixed asset accounts
  • Review and approve items such as invoices, purchase orders or expense reports for proper coding, support and compliance
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities for assigned areas
  • Analyze and report on financial trends month over month for assigned financial statement line items, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with special projects as needed, including supporting in annual audit requests
  • Streamline workbooks and processes as applicable
