Accounting Intern

Summary

Join KCE as an Accounting Intern and support the finance team in processing financial transactions. This paid temporary position will involve reviewing and processing vendor invoices, maintaining account ledgers, reconciling statements, facilitating payments, assisting with sales tax reimbursements, and performing various clerical and ad-hoc projects. You will also assist with audit support and other requests related to finance and office management. The position reports to the Senior Associate, Accounts Payable and is available in Albany, NY, Houston, TX, or remotely. A high school diploma is required, and a business degree is preferred.

• High degree of attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize multiple, high-stakes projects
• Strong knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a small team

Responsibilities

• Review, code and process vendor invoices
• Maintain account ledgers by verifying and posting transactions
• Reconcile monthly vendor account statements and related transactions
• Facilitate payment of vendor account statements and related transactions
• Assist with sales tax reimbursement process
• Perform and monitor clerical functions and various ad hoc projects
• Assist with audit support as necessary
• Assist with ad-hoc requests as pertains to finance and office management including but not limited to clerical tasks to support the office manager
• All other duties as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Business
• Knowledge of financial software QuickBooks, NetSuite, and SharePoint
