Summary

Join Kesef Accounting Service as an Accounts Receivable/Accounting Intern and gain valuable experience in data entry, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and various accounting projects. You will assist with client account management, report creation, and the annual membership billing process. This role requires proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and strong analytical and communication skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a team player, and eager to learn new software and take on challenges. Kesef is part of Togetherwork, specializing in accounting and fundraising for Jewish non-profits. The position is remote, with preference given to candidates in the Eastern Time Zone.

Requirements

  • Must be in the process of completing a degree in accounting or related field. Recent high school graduates may be considered based on work experience
  • Proficient with computers, technologically savvy, with the ability to learn different financial software programs quickly with ease
  • Must have solid Excel or Google Sheets experience
  • Must be a team player and motivated to learn with a strong desire to take on new challenges
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, communication and time management skills
  • People skills to be able to interact with a large, dispersed team and many different stakeholders
  • Has the ability to work both independently & in a team setting without being easily distracted. Able to ask for assistance when needed
  • Professional in appearance and presentation to clients
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to deliver high quality work
  • Ability to work productively in a remote work environment
  • Proactive and excited to learn

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to Kesef’s policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules and regulations
  • Undertakes other tasks and/or projects, as required to support the wider Kesef Team
  • Assists with adding and adjusting charges and payments to client accounts
  • Learns to use software as needed for job requirements
  • Creates client and financial reports as needed
  • Assists with annual membership billing process
  • Assists in resolving bank reconciliation inquiries
  • Sets up online credit card payments
  • Performs data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electronic banking and other cash management products and services
  • Worked in a professional office setting doing administrative tasks
  • Accounting & Cash Management experience
  • Synagogue knowledge and experience
  • Bookkeeping & Excel experience
