Summary
Join GoGlobal's Global Business Services (GBS) team as a Local/Regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) and play a critical role in supporting the team's growth and operational excellence. This role involves providing in-depth technical expertise, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and maintaining high-quality service delivery. As a client-facing representative, you will review work, onboard new services, and address client inquiries. You will also act as a go-to expert on local regulations, ensuring GBS operations are compliant. The SME will provide training, maintain a knowledge base, and collaborate with the GBS team and other stakeholders. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role and a bachelor's degree in a related field. A recognized professional accounting qualification is preferred.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of local regulations
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance and local tax, payment, or accounting standards
- Proven experience in a client-facing role, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong technical acumen in local accounting, tax and payment regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex regulations and compliance requirements
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to provide strategic solutions
- Strong client management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Fluency in local language and English is required
Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth technical support to the GBS team, assisting with complex issues related to accounting, payroll, and HR services
- Act as the go-to expert on local regulations, ensuring GBS operations are compliant with all relevant laws and standards
- Review and interpret changes in local rules and regulations, advising the team on implications and necessary adjustments
- Review the quality and accuracy of deliverables to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks to maintain high service standards
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with evolving regulatory environments
- Serve as a point of contact for client inquiries, providing professional and timely responses to address technical and compliance-related questions
- Participate in client meetings, acting as a trusted advisor to clarify regulatory requirements and address any local compliance concerns
- Assist in managing client expectations and communicating complex regulatory concepts in an accessible manner
- Support the onboarding of new client services, ensuring a smooth transition and compliance with local requirements
- Collaborate with the GBS team and other internal stakeholders to define the scope, timelines, and deliverables for new client services
- Ensure all client documentation and service agreements are compliant and up-to-date before onboarding
- Provide training sessions and workshops to the GBS team on local regulatory updates, technical standards, and best practices
- Create and maintain a knowledge base for local regulations to support continuous learning and skill development
- Work closely with the GBS team, regional directors, and other SMEs to ensure cohesive service delivery
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify growth opportunities and contribute to strategic initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
Recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA) will be added advantage
