Summary

Join our team as an experienced machine learning & artificial intelligence engineering manager to lead a talented team of machine learning engineers and data scientists in building models that process 2D and 3D renders, performing feature extraction, and analyzing imagery to deliver data-driven insights to customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in developing machine learning models, particularly in the fields of computer vision, 3D data processing, and feature extraction
  • Proven track record of leading machine learning teams and managing full-cycle model development (from R&D to production)
  • Strong experience with tools and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, and other machine learning frameworks
  • Experience working with 2D and 3D data sources such as lidar, camera imagery, and point clouds
  • Familiarity with geospatial data processing, GIS, Photogrammetry, Neural Radiance Fields, and remote sensing data analytics
  • Solid understanding of agriculture and/or forestry applications is a plus
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of ML & AI models focused on feature extraction from 2D and 3D data (lidar and imagery), using our ML CI/CD workflow as well as contributing to development
  • Drive research and development efforts to enhance models' accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in a production environment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, and subject-matter experts in agriculture and forestry, to identify customer pain points and solution opportunities
  • Oversee data acquisition and preprocessing pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity for machine learning models
  • Develop and implement innovative feature extraction techniques that can translate visual and spatial data into actionable insights for plant and tree health, growth, and resource management
  • Mentor, coach, and manage a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of machine learning solutions that align with customer and business needs
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in machine learning, computer vision, and geospatial analysis, integrating relevant advancements into Agerpointโ€™s platform
  • Coordinate closely with the executive team to align machine learning strategies with the companyโ€™s long-term vision for digital twins and data-driven insights
