Summary

Join Accela as an AI Product Development Associate to contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI/ML solutions for our Civic Platform and Digital Plan Room. This six-month temporary role involves close collaboration with the Sr. AI Solutions Architect and cross-functional teams. You will assist in designing, prototyping, and evaluating AI-powered features to enhance the efficiency and intelligence of digital plan review processes. Responsibilities include assisting in the development and testing of AI/ML models, supporting data preparation and preprocessing, collaborating on AI feature integration, building model evaluation dashboards, researching new AI technologies, and documenting findings. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in a related field, familiarity with Python and AI/ML libraries, understanding of foundational AI concepts, and strong analytical and communication skills. This temporary position offers an hourly rate of $20-$25, with potential commissions, but is not benefits-eligible except for statutory requirements.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field
  • Familiarity with Python and common AI/ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, OpenCV)
  • Understanding of foundational AI concepts such as NLP, computer vision, and model evaluation
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and testing of AI/ML models, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, and computer vision tools
  • Support data preparation, annotation, and preprocessing tasks for training and evaluating models
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate AI features into product workflows
  • Help build and maintain model evaluation dashboards and performance monitoring tools
  • Research and prototype new AI technologies and frameworks relevant to plan review automation
  • Document findings, experiments, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and future development

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with REST APIs, Git, and basic DevOps tools is a plus

Benefits

  • The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $20/hour - $25/hour
  • This role is eligible to earn commissions
  • This temporary, non-exempt position is not benefits eligible except for statutory requirements
