Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience with an environmental/engineering consulting firm, state environmental agency, or industrial/institutional facility
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or meteorology from an accredited program
  • A strong appreciation of and commitment to safe work practices is mandatory
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated performance in analysis, problem-solving, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and on large multi-disciplinary teams
  • Outstanding technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Ability to mentor and develop a project team and successfully manage project timelines and budgets
  • Experience interpreting state and federal air quality and modeling regulations and preparing related reports, permits, plans, etc

Responsibilities

  • Preparing air permit applications (modeling experience a plus)
  • Preparing emission inventories and annual/semi-annual reports, including Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reports
  • Coordinating stack testing programs
  • Conducting applicability assessments
  • Management of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) data
  • Conducting inspections and audits
  • Reviewing and supporting modeling analyses
  • Interacting with state and federal air quality regulatory agencies
  • Negotiating permit conditions
  • Participating in local industry organizations
  • Supporting the general growth and development of Woodard & Curran’s Air Quality and Climate Change services
  • Collaborating with other Woodard & Curran practitioners across the country to execute air quality projects
  • Developing a working understanding of Woodard & Curran’s other consulting service areas and supporting cross-selling these services to existing clients
  • Working closely with clients, developing and expanding solid relationships
  • Contributing to expanding Woodard & Curran’s air consulting services. Identifying and developing new opportunities, preparing proposals, and taking an active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients
  • Capitalizing on existing client relationships to expand Woodard & Curran’s profile and presence in the Air Quality & Climate Change market
