Summary

Join our team as the Manager of Ambulatory Clinical Services, where you will oversee the implementation, optimization, and support of our institution's ambulatory clinical systems. You will ensure system functionality aligns with clinical and business processes, acting as a liaison between Digital & Information Services and operational leadership. This role involves product management for assigned applications, anticipating customer needs, and providing technical advice. You will participate in strategic planning, manage projects, and build positive relationships with operational leadership. Responsibilities include managing support vendors, overseeing new system implementations, and assessing departmental needs for workflow and technology improvements. You will also proactively identify and resolve issues, mentor team members, and manage budgets.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, health care or related fields
  • Have an Associate Degree and nine to ten (9-10) years of related experience (in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)
  • Hold Certification(s) in related Epic or other Clinical or Business Applications
  • Have six years of overall experience leading to increasing responsibilities
  • Possess a strong understanding of clinical workflows in a healthcare setting
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate influencing skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to creatively solve complex issues
  • Have command of common office tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Visio)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation, optimization, and support of the institution’s Ambulatory clinical systems
  • Ensure that system functionality is designed and delivered to support clinical and business processes as well as information needs
  • Act as a liaison between Digital & Information Services and operational leadership
  • Serve as a product manager for their respective application areas
  • Anticipate and be proactive towards meeting customer needs
  • Provide technical advice to operational leadership when implementing new workflows or applications
  • Work within DIS to present consistent messaging to the customer
  • Participate in strategic planning and department coordination
  • Balance needs for support, maintenance, and administrative tasks with projects
  • Monitor group portfolio of projects; work with the project teams to identify and resolve risks and issues
  • Review and approve Business Cases and SOW for projects
  • Manage support vendors and assist in contract negotiations
  • Build a positive and productive relationship with operational leadership and their teams
  • Manage and oversee the implementation of new workflow and/or application systems within the institution
  • Ensure delivery of products that enable business value
  • Assess departmental needs in terms of workflow and technology recommendations to operational leadership for the implementation of new processes/systems or expansion of current processes/systems
  • Act as liaison between operational leadership and DIS teams to ensure all systems are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Proactively identify workflow or application issues and collaboratively seek resolution
  • Initiate standard repeatable group processes where appropriate
  • Set and meet accounting unit budget(s)
  • Mentor team members
  • Be responsible for employee reviews and career development
