Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business administration, or related field
  • 1 – 3 years of experience in renewable energy, energy markets, land development, GIS analysis, or related field
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market fundamentals, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Support GIS-based land analysis to identify optimal greenfield locations for solar and storage development
  • Evaluate siting criteria including solar irradiance, land use, zoning restrictions, proximity to transmission, topography, wetlands, and environmental constraints
  • Use internal tools and datasets to score, rank, and map potential sites
  • Collaborate closely with land manager, developer, and GIS to de-risk project sites through early stages of project life-cycle
  • Conduct regional market research to understand trends in interconnection, permitting, policy, and market fundamentals
  • Analyze utility plans, transmission expansion projects, and ISO/RTO queue dynamics
  • Track state and local incentives, regulatory developments, and energy transition targets
  • Perform economic analyses at state and county levels
  • Work closely with interconnection, permitting, land acquisition, and trading and analytics teams to support go/no-go decisions
  • Assist in the preparation of project screening memos and presentations for internal stakeholders
  • Maintain and update databases of greenfield opportunities and market intelligence
  • Support the enhancement of internal siting tools and workflows, including mapping software, scoring algorithms, and reporting templates
  • Help build and maintain models or dashboards that summarize site metrics and market opportunities
