Summary

Join Weedmaps as an Analytics Engineer and become a key contributor to our Data organization, focusing on Marketing & Growth. Build and maintain data pipelines and analytics frameworks to power marketing intelligence and growth initiatives. Collaborate with marketing, product, and data science teams to drive data-informed decision-making. Develop robust analytics systems addressing unique marketplace challenges, including attribution modeling and customer lifetime value analysis. Create marketing dashboards, automate reporting, and build self-service tools. Partner with the Growth team on A/B testing and analyze experiment results. Support campaign planning with data analysis and predictive insights. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, marketing domain knowledge, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or similar technical role
  • Strong understanding of marketing concepts and growth metrics
  • Experience with modern data warehouse platforms, preferably Snowflake
  • Expertise in SQL and data modeling with dbt
  • Proficiency in Python

Responsibilities

  • Build attribution models to track and analyze customer journeys across multiple touchpoints
  • Develop standardized methodologies for calculating critical growth metrics (CAC, LTV, ROAS, etc.), merging in data from the customer data platform (e.g. Segment, Braze, etc)
  • Create cohort analysis frameworks to measure retention and engagement over time
  • Design and implement marketing dashboards that provide clear insights into performance
  • Automate regular reporting workflows to reduce manual effort and increase data consistency
  • Create self-service tools that empower marketing teams to access insights independently
  • Partner with Growth to design and implement A/B tests (e.g. in Optimizely) for campaign performance
  • Analyze marketing experiment results to identify opportunities for improving ROI
  • Support campaign planning with historical data analysis and predictive insights
  • Collaborate on marketing technology integrations to ensure complete data capture
  • Build connectors between marketing platforms and our data warehouse
  • Document marketing data schemas and maintain data dictionaries
  • Develop and maintain marketing data pipelines using SQL within modern data stack tools (Snowflake, DBT)
  • Create and document data models that transform raw marketing data into reliable, business-ready datasets
  • Implement data quality checks and testing frameworks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of marketing analytics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with business intelligence tools, preferably Tableau or Looker
  • E-commerce or marketplace business experience preferred
  • Regulated industry experience - nice to have
