Analytics Engineer Intern

Summary

Join GameChanger's Analytics Hub team for a 10-week paid internship (June 9th - August 15th, $30/hour) focused on data analysis and improvement of the data warehouse. You'll learn to use a modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, GitHub, etc.), conduct research projects, create monitoring dashboards, and support other teams' data needs. The internship offers remote work flexibility (excluding certain states), a trip to NYC for orientation, MacBook provision, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Ideal candidates possess data manipulation skills (SQL, Python, etc.), data interpretation abilities, and basic version control knowledge. A Bachelor's degree or MBA is preferred.

Requirements

• Have experience manipulating data using a coding language like SQL, Python, R, Stata, SAS, or MATLAB
• Be comfortable interpreting results from data you’ve analyzed and presenting them to a non-technical audience
• Troubleshoot technical challenges by reaching out to your peers and professors, using trusted online resources, and trying a variety of approaches when faced with an unfamiliar problem
• Have a basic understanding of version control, ideally in GitHub
• Be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or MBA, or looking to make a career change

Responsibilities

• Learn how to use a modern data stack, including Snowflake, dbt, GitHub, airflow, Snowplow, Looker, Hex, and Kubit
• Complete a summer-long research project that helps us better understand trends in GameChanger’s key metrics
• Create lasting infrastructure improvements to our data warehouse by setting up monitoring dashboards and identifying opportunities to improve pipeline efficiency
• Pair with analytics hub teammates to support other teams’ data needs across the company
• Contribute to a data-driven culture by advocating for data quality enhancements both in and outside of the team
