API Developer Intern

Summary

Join VetsEZ as a Junior Developer and contribute to a critical development initiative focused on building a robust suite of RESTful APIs for our specialized healthcare technology. This role offers opportunities to enhance your modern development skillset and specialize in healthcare IT. VetsEZ supports both full-time and part-time schedules, making it ideal for students. The position requires experience with object-oriented programming and either RESTful APIs or SQL, along with strong problem-solving skills and teamwork abilities. You will design, code, test, and debug using various programming languages and learn technologies like Git, JSON, and API testing tools. The ability to obtain a Federal Government clearance is required.

Requirements

• Experience with objected oriented programming (Java, Python etc.) and either RESTful APIs or SQL. Experience with all three preferred
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder, Agile, and DevSecOps environment
• Ability to obtain a Federal Government clearance

Responsibilities

• Designing, code, test, and debug a variety of programming languages using the latest programming techniques
• Learn and become proficient with related technologies in the development lifecycle including Git and version control, JSON, API testing tools, and Jira

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or declared major in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Utilization of Git and version control a plus
• Experience with JSON a plus
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, etc. a plus
• Experience with JIRA a plus
