Application Architect Level 3

Summary

Join our team as an Application Architect Level 3 for the OpenVMS Modernization Project in Victoria, BC (remote option available). This is a contract position starting April 1, 2025, and ending March 31, 2026. You will lead multi-discipline teams in designing complex projects, demonstrating expert knowledge of underlying technology functions. The role requires significant experience in software architecture and development, code reviews, and data modeling. Specific technology skills are required, including Java/J2EE, Oracle, and various web technologies. Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of software architecture and/or software development experience (within the last 10 years) related to the delivery of large, complex, or transformational projects
• Minimum 3 years of experience (within the last 5 years) performing code reviews and data model reviews and analysis
• Degree or diploma in computer science or a related field, demonstrated ongoing learning activities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated experience communicating effectively to a broad range of stakeholders
• Expert knowledge of an underlying technology function, its integral components and understand the strengths and weaknesses of a technology

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-discipline analysis and design teams in support of complex projects
• Report to the senior project manager
• Have individuals performing functions at a senior technical level reporting directly to you
• Determine the suitability of a technology
• Define the best possible architecture
• Have detailed knowledge of industry trends and vendor competencies within the subject area
• Model the technical architecture
• Create application models and data models
