Summary

Join Accesa's 24/7 Operating Control Center project team as an Application Support Engineer. You will optimize system control for central systems (z/OS) and server infrastructure (Linux, Unix, Windows). Responsibilities include enhancing application monitoring, streamlining event management, resolving complex issues, strengthening incident recovery, and implementing process improvements. The ideal candidate possesses 3+ years of experience in a similar support role, strong knowledge of operating systems (z/OS, Linux, Windows), and fluency in German (C1) and English (B2). Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar support role
  • Good knowledge of operating systems, including z/OS, Linux, and Windows
  • Understanding of IT platforms and data center operations
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 rotating shift schedule (day shifts and night shifts)
  • Reliable, committed, and team-oriented with adaptability to changing environments
  • Business fluency in German (C1) and good English skills (B2)

Responsibilities

  • Optimize System Control: Your responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of central systems (z/OS) and subsystems, as well as the server infrastructure (Linux, Unix, Windows), monitoring and controlling them in a 24/7 shift environment to ensure high availability
  • Enhance Application Monitoring: You will oversee and optimize the control of distributed applications using system management tools, ensuring that they run efficiently and without interruptions across various platforms
  • Streamline Event Management: You will independently manage event processing in alignment with support processes, making sure that all incidents are tracked and resolved in an organized manner to minimize downtime
  • Resolve Complex Issues: You will handle escalated fault reports from 1st level support, working to quickly restore the defined operating status and minimize downtime
  • Strengthen Incident Recovery: You will lead support for incident management, ensuring quick service recovery, thorough documentation, and timely tracking to keep operations on track
  • Implement Process Improvements: You will be responsible for implementing and documenting standardized changes and emergency drills, ensuring consistency and compliance in all procedures for system updates and disaster recovery
