Join Ready Player Me as an Art Director to lead the creative vision for avatars and wearables across PlayerZero and Ready Player Me platforms. You will define style guides, build IP, and ensure collections resonate with Gen Z and Millennial players. Responsibilities include leading a team, collaborating with external partners, and exploring AI-powered workflows. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in character art, team building, and art leadership, with a strong pulse on pop culture and youth trends. A minimum of 10 years in creative roles and 5 years leading creative teams is required. Requirements

  • Experience creating character art. You have a proven track record of leading character-focused art initiatives in gaming or a related field
  • Team building & outsourcing management. You’re skilled at scaling art teams and managing external art houses or freelancers to deliver high-quality assets
  • Proven art leadership. You’ve owned the full art process — from concept to final sign-off — consistently setting and upholding a high creative bar
  • Pulse on pop culture & youth trends. You’re deeply connected to (or quick to absorb) Gen Z and Millennial cultural and fashion influences, using them to inspire creative direction
  • 10+ years in creative roles. You've held roles like Artist, Art Director, or Creative Director — ideally within gaming or adjacent industries
  • 5+ years leading creative teams. You have experience building and leading teams from the ground up
  • Expertise in character/avatar pipelines. You're hands-on with concept art, modeling, rigging, and the full avatar creation pipeline
  • Strong outsourcing collaboration experience. You're confident managing external partners — from scope and timelines to quality control
  • A sharp eye for style and culture. You bring digital aesthetics and fashion sensibility that resonate with youth and pop culture
  • Curiosity for AI and 3D tools. You’re excited to explore and innovate using the latest in AI and 3D technologies

Responsibilities

  • Create & own the visual direction. You’ll set the creative vision that defines how PlayerZero looks and feels — across every avatar, wearable, and pixel we ship
  • Regularly launch wearable collections & partner IP drops. You’ll plan and deliver wearable drops that feel relevant, collectible, and in tune with culture — often in collaboration with iconic IP
  • Build & lead the art team. You’ll grow and lead a team of talented artists, empowering them to move fast, stay inspired, and hit a high creative bar
  • Manage outsourcing & partnerships. You’ll partner with world-class studios and freelancers to help scale content creation — while keeping quality and timelines on track
  • Evolve & improve PlayerZero avatars. Our avatars are our core — you’ll ensure they keep getting better, bolder, and more unique with every release
  • Stay aligned with pop culture & fashion. You’ll stay plugged into culture, translating trends into visual direction that resonates with our users
  • Experiment with AI to boost productivity. You’ll push boundaries by integrating smart, AI-powered tools into our art workflows — freeing up time for more creativity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience with NFT and web3 collaborations. You’ve contributed to wearable drops or creative projects in the NFT or web3 space
  • Have helped build a category-defining product. You’ve shaped or scaled a standout product in an early-stage startup or scaleup
  • Have worked in a fast-paced startup environment. You thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and know how to prioritize when everything is urgent
  • Love gaming and understand gaming culture. You don’t just play — you get what makes gaming communities tick and what players care about
