Summary
Join Instructure's Assessment Content Team as a freelance Content Accessibility Specialist! This contractor position offers flexible hours, negotiated project-by-project. You will collaborate with the team to review and revise test content for accessibility compliance, focusing on K-2 development. Key responsibilities include supplying age-appropriate alt text for images and revising items for content accessibility compliance. The ideal candidate possesses strong assessment writing/editing experience and experience developing accessible instructional content adhering to WCAG 2.1AA standards. Experience in education and with educational publishers is a plus.
Requirements
- Strong professional assessment writing and/or editing experience
- Strong professional experience with developing instructional content to abide by accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1AA )
- Experience in education; former teaching experience is a plus but is not required
Responsibilities
- Work independently and collaboratively with the assessment content team to review and revise test content for accessibility compliance, with attention to internal deadlines
- With a focus on K-2 development, supply age-appropriate alt text for images used in assessment items
- With a focus on K-2 development, revise items for content accessibility compliance (platform compliance is out of scope for this role)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with educational publishers is a plus
