Summary
Join BlueConic as an Assistant Controller and support the Director of Finance in leading a team of accounting and finance professionals. You will play a hands-on role in evolving our financial processes, leveraging your NetSuite expertise and familiarity with international accounting practices, particularly in the Netherlands. Key responsibilities include financial operations and reporting, technical accounting, general ledger and month-end close, audit and compliance, cash management, tax compliance, international accounting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a CPA designation, 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, and strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP. Experience with NetSuite, multi-entity consolidations, and international accounting is highly preferred. Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred
- 4 -6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within SaaS or technology companies
- Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany transactions
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus
- Proven ability to manage audits, and work cross-functionally
- Analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings ensuring accurate and timely GAAP-compliant reporting
- Assist with consolidating multi-entity financial statements and managing intercompany transactions
- Research and apply technical accounting standards to complex business transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, lease accounting, equity accounting, and business combinations)
- Serve as the go-to internal expert for interpreting and implementing new accounting standards (ASC updates, SEC reporting guidance, etc.)
- Administer and optimize the use of NetSuite for financial and operational reporting, process automation, and compliance
- Manage journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and tax regulations
- Support treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and currency risk management
- Oversee preparation and filing of all federal, state, and international tax filings in coordination with external advisors; ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations across jurisdictions
- Collaborate with our Netherlands-based finance team to ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax laws
- Assist in streamlining and scaling accounting operations, policies, and systems using automation and AI-based technologies to increase accuracy, speed, and operational efficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite is a plus
- Familiarity with international accounting, especially Dutch/Netherlands GAAP and tax frameworks, is a significant plus
- Public accounting background (Big 4 or regional firm)
- Experience in a SaaS and multi-entity/global organization
- Familiarity with technical standards relevant to SAAS companies
- Interest in AI-enabled automation tools and their application in finance operations
