Summary

Join Evidence Action's Finance & Operations team as the US Finance Lead! Reporting to the Global Controller, you will lead the US finance team, overseeing monthly close processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and administering Intacct. You will collaborate on global audits and tax filings, support process improvements, and serve as backup across AP, AR, and payroll. This role requires 6-10 years of nonprofit finance experience, including team leadership and audit support. Requirements

  • 6 to 10 yearsโ€™ experience working in a finance role within a nonprofit with a global footprint
  • Experience leading teams in a growth-oriented role, with 3+ years supervising direct reports
  • Supported the annual audit process, the global consolidation, and the 990 filing within a nonprofit organization
  • Very familiar with Sage Intacct and have intermediate proficiency in analyzing data in Excel (ex. using pivot tables, navigating complex spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Experience working with global consolidation across multiple currencies
  • Experience adopting new software tools to improve processes and drive efficiencies
  • A team player and can work across a matrixed environment with leadership and staff across diverse, global environments
  • Strategic in thinking and planning; turning open ended problems into solutions
  • Can iterate in real time, employ data for decision making, and pivot where necessary to find success
  • A passion for the mission of Evidence Action and for creating value in international development
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S

Responsibilities

  • Lead the US monthly close process, including oversight of journal entry postings and account reconciliations, as well as the process for indirect cost allocations
  • Ensure US finance practices are completed in alignment with Evidence Action policies and in compliance with GAAP
  • Administer Evidence Actionโ€™s use of Intacct, ensuring Evidence Action keeps pace with improvements in its capabilities and managing finance user access globally
  • In collaboration with the Global Controller, lead preparation for the annual global audit and tax filing and support branch country audits
  • Support the finance teamโ€™s implementation of improved accounting processes and/or software systems
  • Serve as backup across AP, AR, and payroll
