Assistant Controller

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA license required
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP with the ability to apply this knowledge to complex, real-world scenarios
• Exceptional analytical skills with a proficiency in problem-solving and identifying actionable insights
• Superior knowledge in Excel and Microsoft Office
• Highly self-directed, motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment

Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy in revenue recognition, capital expenditures (capex), accruals, and account reconciliations
• Lead, develop, and manage an offshore accounting team, providing guidance and ensuring seamless execution of their job functions
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of new accounting system during a company-wide software conversion
• Conduct flux and variance analyses to identify trends and provide actionable insights to senior management
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data by monitoring and enhancing processes and controls
• Support internal and external audits, liaising with auditors, lenders, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth, timely reviews
• Collaborate closely with departments such as Finance, Operations, Sales, HR, and Legal to address accounting-related issues and ensure cross-functional alignment
• Research and address technical accounting issues, ensuring compliance with the latest guidance and standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing teams, including offshore or remote teams, is a strong advantage
• SAP experience a plus, with a willingness to dive into system conversion projects
• Experience in both public and private companies is preferred, with the ability to adapt to varied challenges and expectations
