Summary
Join Hook as an Associate Creative Director (Copy) and lead the development of insightful creative concepts for a major tech client. You will work remotely, primarily during PST hours, with occasional travel. This role requires strong copywriting skills, strategic thinking, and experience managing teams. You'll build client relationships, lead pitches, and mentor junior staff. Requirements
- 8+ years of creative agency or production company experience working toward the creation and development of successful ad campaigns
- 5+ years of experience of short form and long form copywriting for large brands across digital mediums
- 2+ years of people management and/or project leading with a passion for mentoring and developing people
- An extensive portfolio of thoughtful work that successfully addresses complex marketing challenges across a range of tones and industry types
- Experience in copywriting for national or global brands is required, ideally with some experience in tech and product features. Agency experience, or equivalent, is also necessary
- Have innovative ideas for budgets both big and small
- Ability to conceptualize ideas for various key audiences, especially Gen Z
- Deep understanding of products UI and be able to translate that into a compelling storytelling tool
- A proactive mindset towards solving the clientβs challenges and driving work forward
- Ability to work Pacific Standard Time (PST)
- Willingness to travel occasionally for video shoots and other events (estimated at less than 10% of the year). Overnight travel may be expected
Responsibilities
- Lead (with a very hands-on approach) the development of insightfully driven creative concepts and their production to the point of exceeding client expectations
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with all relevant client contacts, becoming an expert on brand culture, politics, products, preferences, and expectations
- Lead the development and presentation of pitch materials for all major and complex campaigns associated with a brand or brand group
- Ensure the highest possible quality of all strategic, creative, and design deliverables within the scope of one or more brand relationships
- Elevate overall work quality by setting increasingly high standards and articulating ambitious creative opportunities (without sacrificing baseline deliverable requirements)
- Maintain a positive relationship with both Art and Production staff, ensuring that concepts meet the requirements of both departments
- Maintain and promote an internal awareness of industry creative trends and standards with a strong focus on narrative tone and ideation
- Mentor and support junior creative staff toward the goal of accelerating skill progression through a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Manage at least one direct report and be instrumental in their development
- Promote a positive creative culture through teamwork and leading by example
