Requirements

  • Minimum 10 - 15 years of relevant working experience in the cost management discipline
  • Degree holder in Quantity Surveying, or related field (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering
  • RICS qualified (MRICS)
  • Experience of working on Major Programmes and Projects
  • Proactive, quality driven, self-motivated and hands-on team-leader with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential, ability to communicate well with clients and senior management. Ability to manage difficult stakeholders
  • Experience in leading and managing large teams of professionals with a strength in growing and developing people
  • Strong communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge in Real Estate / infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Support the Commercial Director on one of our prestigious multi-sector based projects
  • Grow existing client’s relationships
  • Identify the position for and secure new clients
  • Support and manage bids for new work
  • Contribute to the diversification of the service offer to our clients
  • Support the Commercial Director to identify and recruit new team members and build teams to successfully deliver commissions
  • Lead programme and project management commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery
  • Act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time cost targets and the appropriate quality standards
  • Manage commissions and resources in an efficient manner in order to contribute to the overall profitability of the business
  • Contribute to the overall strategic and operational management to the business
  • Be specifically responsible for delegated business development / marketing tasks and support the Commercial Director to achieve set out strategies
  • Take responsibility for successfully developing, supporting and leading client relationship and related commission outputs and deliverable management
  • Set up new and operate existing effective programme processes and systems that enable efficient data collection, management and benchmarking
  • Lead in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all programme stages where required
  • Understanding the client and commission requirements and providing a trusted position that the client can rely upon to deliver
  • Programme set up, delivery and close down activities in accordance with the requirements of the role
  • Manage commissions under your control to meet client and business objectives
  • Leading and facilitating the overall cross functional project team
  • Advising at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client’s overall objectives
  • Optimise project staff utilisation
  • Deliver the skills necessary to meet technical objectives for the commission
  • Comply with Business Management System requirements
  • Comply with T&T risk management processes
  • Ensure contracts for services for commissions under your control are in place with all clients/sub-consultants in line with group policy
  • Comply with risk mitigation measures defined in the Commission Execution Plan
  • Lead to establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project
  • Project planning, including ensuring the production of the detailed project plan
  • Advising upon the procurement of resources –design and construction
  • Monitor and apply performance management techniques, including the use of KPI’s to improve project performance
  • Set up and managing the change control process
  • Monitor and advise upon project finances/budgets
  • Manage the flow of project information between the project team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications
  • Ensure the production of formal project progress and other reports
  • Implement risk management techniques appropriate to the project
  • Manage and monitor design team in accordance with commission scope
  • Manage and monitor contractor in accordance with commission scope
  • Develop appropriate contractor interface; and
  • Lead or support business case production as required by the commission scope
