Summary

Join Cahaba Media Group as an Associate Editor for HomeCare magazine! We are seeking a deadline-driven, energetic writer and copy editor with 1-2 years of experience to join our team. You will be responsible for copy editing, reporting, writing, and coordinating content across print and digital platforms. This role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, familiarity with AP style, and experience with InDesign and content management systems. The position offers a salary range of $40,000-$42,000 and can be performed remotely within the lower 48 states (excluding California). Some travel is required for in-person trade shows and conferences.

Requirements

• Have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications or a related field
• Have one to two years of relevant work experience and/or internship experience
• Have some copy editing, reporting and/or writing experience
• Are familiar with AP style
• Have some experience with InDesign and Drupal/WordPress (or similar content management systems)

Responsibilities

• Assign and perform detailed copy editing on print and digital articles for HomeCare magazine, website and newsletters
• Report, gather and write copy for newsletters four to five times a week and assist with production
• Be part of a team building the digital issue of the monthly magazine
• Coordinate with Editor on editorial direction for the magazine and digital products
• Write in-house bylines and other content as needed
• Work with Editor to monitor press announcements and industry news for article leads
• Assist with social media
• Coordinate and compile regular magazine sections including industry news and product listings
• Conduct website SEO tagging and archive work
• Client outreach as requested by sales team
• Attend in-person (some travel required) and virtual trade shows and conferences for various industry organizations
• Other responsibilities as needed
