Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction required
  • 8 years of experience as an attorney, with a mix of law firm experience and in-house experience within SaaS, technology, financial services, or other highly regulated industries required
  • 5 years of experience as an attorney negotiating vendor and partnership agreements within the B2B SaaS industry required
  • Proven track record of collaboration across product, security, and GTM functions
  • Extensive experience negotiating complex commercial contracts, especially in vendor and partnership contexts required
  • Strong command of commercial contract law
  • Comfortable using contract lifecycle management tools and collaborative platforms (e.g. JIRA, LinkSquares, Docusign)
  • Exceptional business judgement and ability to apply legal risk frameworks to fast-paced product and business decisions
  • Deep understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape affecting fintech, SaaS, and cloud-based service providers
  • Understanding of API licensing terms and interoperability frameworks in SaaS and digital ecosystems
  • Expert-level drafting and negotiation skills, particularly with high-value and technically complex agreements
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess legal and business risk and balance them appropriately
  • High-level facilitation skills to align legal, business, and technical stakeholders during negotiations
  • Ability to synthesize legal and technical concepts for cross-functional audiences, including product, sales, and engineering

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior legal authority on all matters related to vendor contracts and strategic partnerships
  • Partner closely with the Chief Legal Officer and senior leadership to align legal strategy with company goals
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of vendor and service agreements, including SaaS, licensing, and professional services
  • Partner with vendor risk management and finance and accounting teams to develop scalable contracting processes and mitigate third-party risk
  • Lead the legal negotiation of partnership agreements, including reseller, referral, joint venture, technology integration, and distribution agreements
  • Collaborate with compliance, information security, and privacy teams to ensure contracts address appropriate legal, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements
  • Supervise outside counsel as needed
  • Provide strategic guidance on API terms, ecosystem integrations, and complex technology partnerships
  • Support post-signature obligations, renewals, and operational handoffs
  • Develop legal frameworks and operational standards for vendor engagement, including playbooks, templates, approval workflows, and metrics
  • Lead contract-related dispute resolution
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Benefits

$175,000 - $205,000 a year
