Summary

OKX, a digital asset exchange and blockchain ecosystems company, is hiring an Associate General Counsel to support global token listing procedures and provide legal support for the Compliance department. The candidate will work from New York, San Jose, or San Francisco office three days a week and may work remotely two days a week. They should have relevant legal experience, an enthusiastic belief in the cryptocurrency/digital asset space, and excellent writing and analytical skills.

Requirements

• Active membership with a state bar (NY preferred) or eligible to practice in New York as a registered in-house counsel
• Resident of the New York City Area or San Francisco Bay Area
• Experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in the cryptocurrency/digital assets industry
• Understanding of global regulatory environments and comfortable reading legislation and regulatory guidance
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to structure, analyze, and synthesize complex problems and communicate them effectively
• A strong attention to detail, work ethic, and an ability to execute with speed, high standards, and a passion for sharing knowledge within your team and organization
• Experience advising on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology legal issues and have a basic understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory landscape
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage and multi-cultural environment
• Ability to effectively advise and build trust with business teams

Responsibilities

• Supporting the business in a wide range of legal coverage areas, including but not limited to token listings, compliance legal support, product promotion and development, global regulatory matters, contract negotiation, and institutional sales and partnerships
• Managing outside counsel and interpreting legal advice to comport with the firm's business development plans and risk appetite
• Assisting the team's litigation and regulatory practice group on global regulatory matters and inquiries
• Collaborating with product and business development teams to achieve company-wide projects and goals
• Managing legal requests from all areas of the business and effectively advising on legal concepts and legal risk with an eye towards the strategic goals of business leaders
