Summary
Join our Pet Underwriting team as a detail-oriented individual with veterinary expertise. You will utilize your veterinary knowledge and analytical skills to review pet medical records, identify abnormalities, and document pre-existing conditions. Responsibilities include analyzing SOAP notes and lab results, identifying missing information, and coordinating with external teams to obtain it. You will work with internal and external claims support teams, report discrepancies, and maintain a high degree of accuracy in completing 15-20 medical record reviews daily. This full-time position requires 4+ years of veterinary experience and excellent communication skills. The pay range is $23.56-$28.85 per hour, plus equity and benefits.
Requirements
- 4+ years of veterinary experience
- Knowledge and understanding of veterinary medical records, conditions and treatments, terminology, and lab work. Including up-to-date knowledge on veterinary medications
- Comfortable navigating through computers, with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues and confidently learn new software programs
- Confidence in deciphering and comprehending handwritten medical records
- Ability to complete, at minimum, 15-20 medical record reviews daily
- Able to perform repetitive, essential tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and follow up on pending requests
- Ability to adapt to workplace changes with ease and enthusiasm
- This is a full-time position
Responsibilities
- Utilize your veterinary knowledge, strong attention to detail, and analytical skills to review pet medical records for our policyholdersโ pets
- Identify, notate any abnormalities, and document pre-existing conditions in the policy
- Analyze SOAP notes, as well as lab results to extract and record any abnormal clinical findings
- Analyze medical records to determine if information is missing, and if so, work with external teams to obtain the missing information and documents
- Work closely with internal and external claims support teams to complete medical record reviews
- Report any discrepancies within the medical record regarding the policyholder and pet information

- Experience working remotely
- Pet Insurance with a claims background
