Summary

Join Intersect Power, a leading clean energy company, as a Land Acquisition professional. You will spearhead real estate efforts for large-scale projects, negotiating complex agreements and managing third-party agents. You will work closely with development and permitting teams, ensuring alignment of acquisition efforts with project timelines. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate Management, Finance, Economics or other related field
  • 5+ years of real estate development or acquisition experience
  • 3+ years of experience or demonstrated track record of closing a variety of real estate transactions in the renewable energy industry, including fee acquisition and option exercises
  • Experience researching mineral rights and acquisition of surface right waivers or associated agreements
  • Strong working knowledge of standard land acquisition terms across multiple markets for solar and/or wind projects
  • Well versed in reading, revising and negotiating complex real estate agreements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective at influencing under-motivated counter-parties to adhere to the company's schedule and deadlines
  • Independent and self-directed
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, iterative, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong familiarity with land/environmental policy/law and mineral interests
  • Passionate about renewable energy development

Responsibilities

  • Support various aspects of the Company's land acquisition process, from site due diligence to negotiating and securing all aspects of site control, including helping to resolve title and survey matters to closing site control agreements in connection with financing and construction
  • Negotiate complex land and site acquisition agreements (lease, purchase, easements, surface waivers, etc.)
  • Manages 3rd party land agents on multiple site control campaigns
  • Initiate and manage mineral ownership reports and surface waiver agreement campaigns
  • Maintain site control trackers and provide progress reports internally across the organization
  • Manage and work with landowners and community groups to facilitate strong community engagement and foster good relationships with the landowners
  • Assist in preparing and updating land acquisition budgets
  • Work closely with the Development and Permitting Teams to ensure acquisition efforts align with permitting schedules and constraints
  • Provide ongoing support to the Development Team and Head of Land

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with google earth, GIS software
  • Experience working with local, state, and federal agencies a plus
