We are looking for an Associate Scientist - BioServices Sequencing Development to support innovative experimental research that advances our AI drug discovery platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, or related discipline and 5+ years of research experience in a relevant laboratory setting or Master’s degree in related field and 3+ years of relevant experience
• Familiar with general molecular biology techniques including DNA construct design, PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, molecular cloning, plasmid extraction, and DNA sequencing
• Illumina NGS technology experience
• PacBio technology experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversees the design, development, evaluation, and implementation of NGS assays
• Performs independent laboratory research leading to the development and implementation of advanced NGS techniques and methods
• Participates in analysis of scientific literature, identification of methodology gaps, and subsequent protocol design
• Work with internal data analysis team to develop methods to analyze NGS data
• Long read and single molecule sequencing library preparation, instrument operation, and maintenance
• Evaluate and troubleshoot prepared libraries, data quality concerns and sequencing instrument issues
• High molecular weight DNA and high quality RNA extraction from diverse biological samples
• Plan and coordinate with a variety of teams to ensure efficient and on-time delivery of high quality results
• Operate successfully in both individual and team environments to troubleshoot protocols and deliver results
• Review and follow standard operating procedures to obtain reproducible results
• Collaborate with others to assist in troubleshooting equipment and processes
• Process and present experimental data within a cross-functional group setting
