Associate Technical Writer

Summary

The job is for an Associate Technical Writer at Innovapptive, a fast-growing company offering a connected worker platform for industrial companies. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of experience in authoring technical content, excellent written skills in English, strong working knowledge of DITA XML and Microsoft Office applications, and a university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, English, Communications or equivalent.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in authoring various types of technical content such as configuration guides, release notes, user guides, and so on
• Have attention to details and deliver high quality content
• Quickly grasp complex technical concepts and present them in easy to understand text and pictures
• Excellent written skills in English
• Strong working knowledge of DITA XML and Microsoft Office applications
• Basic familiarity with the SDLC and Agile software development
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, English, Communications or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
• Produce high-quality content that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
• Write easy-to-understand user guides, configuration guides, install / upgrade guides and developer guides, and online help
• Create tutorials to help end-users learn and use software products
• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
• Create and maintain the information architecture
• Write release notes for hotfixes and send release communications
• Develop product videos for end users
