Summary

Join Experian as an experienced AWS Engineer to contribute to a critical initiative focused on enhancing the security of our Customer Identity and Access Management application. This role centers on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust disaster recovery (DR) strategies and failover mechanisms to ensure high availability and trust. You will collaborate closely with the Solution Architect to develop a robust multi-region DR strategy and domain failover plan, reporting to a Senior Manager. The position requires expertise in AWS services, including EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, Route 53, S3, IAM, and VPC, as well as experience with ForgeRock Identity Platform and Kubernetes. You will be responsible for designing and implementing multi-region DR architectures, deploying critical resources, and conducting regular recovery tests. Strong scripting skills and experience with Terraform and Terragrunt are also essential.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, AWS Cloud, or Site Reliability Engineering
  • Strong expertise in AWS, especially EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, Route 53, S3, IAM, and VPC
  • Hands-on experience with ForgeRock Identity Platform (IDM, AM, DS, IG etc.) in containerized environments
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with multi-region deployments, DR planning, and DNS failover
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or JavaScript
  • Experience with Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure-as-code management

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement multi-region DR architectures within AWS to ensure recovery times and points
  • Deploy critical resources such as EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and S3 in a secondary region to act as a failover site
  • Use Aurora RDS Databases and cross-region replication for database resilience
  • Configure Amazon Route 53 with health checks and DNS failover to reroute traffic during outages
  • Use AWS services like S3 replication, AWS Backup, and RDS snapshots to replicate data and workloads
  • Plan and conduct regular recovery tests and simulations to validate DR plans
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define business continuity requirements and align DR strategies accordingly
  • Maintain detailed DR documentation, including plans, procedures, and recovery steps
  • Communicate DR processes and updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Monitor DR infrastructure performance and optimize configurations for cost-efficiency and reliability
  • Implement secure domain failover strategies to alternate domains in case of compromise
