Requirements
- Strong experience architecting solutions in Amazon Web Services (AWS), including design, build, and deployment of cloud infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience in delivering scalable and secure cloud-based architectures, including compute, storage, networking, and IAM
- Experience in supporting cloud migration strategies and transitioning systems to AWS
- A proven understanding of AWS best practices, tools, and services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Experience working with agile methodologies and delivering solutions within a collaborative environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to innovate and optimise solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of AWS cloud-based infrastructure and services within the Artificial Intelligence team
- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to ensure alignment with best practices, security standards, and organisational goals
- Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and third-party vendors to deliver high-quality AWS solutions
- Oversee the creation and documentation of cloud architecture designs, infrastructure roadmaps, and technical specifications
- Identify opportunities for innovation and optimisation within existing cloud infrastructure
- Ensure AWS solutions are cost-effective, scalable, secure, and compliant with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards
- Support the development of cloud governance frameworks and maintain operational excellence
- Provide mentorship and technical direction to teams implementing cloud solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect β Professional/Associate)
- Knowledge of Government Digital Service (GDS) principles and standards
- Experience in working within a UK Government or public sector environment
- Familiarity with other cloud platforms or multi-cloud solutions
