Back End Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Back End Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot, to work remotely from Argentina or Uruguay for a dynamic eCommerce startup. The role involves developing back-end services, designing scalable cloud solutions on AWS, and troubleshooting production issues.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Back-End Developer with a focus on Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot
• Strong knowledge of AWS and experience deploying applications in a cloud environment
• Proficiency in GraphQL for API development
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects in a fast-paced startup setting

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain back-end services and APIs using Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot
• Design and implement scalable and reliable cloud-based solutions on AWS
• Utilize GraphQL to optimize data fetching and improve API performance
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve production issues as they arise
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Go and/or Node.js is a significant advantage
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience with database design and optimization (SQL and NoSQL)
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git)
