Back End Software Engineer II

Summary

Join Abnormal Security as a Backend Engineer and contribute to building a comprehensive tool for understanding employee risks and threats in a cloud software environment. You will be instrumental in shaping and elevating engineering teams within the Behavioral Event Security Products division. This role requires building high-scale data platforms and infrastructure, solving complex problems, and working with distributed systems. You'll need excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, remote, and distributed team environment. The ideal candidate possesses experience with high-scale distributed systems and a specific tech stack, including Golang, AWS, Kubernetes, and various data processing tools. Requirements

• Experience working with building and operating high scale distributed systems and services
• 3-5 years of overall software engineering experience
• Experience with Language: Golang (preferred), Python
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Storage / Data Pipelines: Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, Parquet, gRPC, protobuf
• Experience with Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, APM
• Experience with Frameworks: Django, Spark

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-throughput, low-latency systems that process 100s of millions of events per day to enable Abnormal detection teams to identify and stop cyber attacks
• Enhance data platforms and infrastructure to improve efficiency and efficacy of Behavioral Event Security Products
• Provide operational support and maintenance to ensure high stability and scalability of data platform systems and services
• Strive for excellence through iterative improvement, a collaborative environment focused on growth, and camaraderie

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years Golang
• Experience working with high scale low latency data pipelines
• Production support experience for enterprise-class customers
