Backend Engineer in France

Summary

Two Backend Software Engineers are needed to join the Search and Booking teams at BlaBlaCar. They will contribute to delivering a reliable and scalable multimodal search platform and optimize the booking and checkout experience for passengers. The roles report to Louise (Search team) or Clothilde (Booking team).

Requirements

• You have 3+ years of experience from companies with a strong engineering culture, within a growth context
• You are fluent in Java and know frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit, and Mockito
• You have hands-on experience with Git, Docker, and Kubernetes, and monitoring solutions (Datadog)
• You know what service-oriented architecture looks like, and you can determine when to apply a given architectural pattern
• Good communication skills and being a team player, eager to share and learn from your teammates and grow altogether as a team
• Full working proficiency in English

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of the Java microservices that serve the team flow for the Blablacar platform
• Participate in the whole application lifecycle, from early meetings and design to development, test strategy, deployment in production and monitoring
• Participate in the definition of the features with the product and design teams to find the most relevant solutions for our members
• Interact with people with different roles and backgrounds, and share your technical expertise with a mix of technical, product, and business people
