Backend Software Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Backend Developer role at High Point Aerotechnologies. The employee will design, develop, and optimize backend systems for Counter-Robot command and control products, integrate sensors and effectors, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. They require proven experience as a backend developer with expertise in Java and Python, multithreading, service-oriented architecture, and familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Gitlab or Github.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a backend developer with expertise in Java and Python
• High level of experience with multithreading and concurrent processing of data and requests
• Ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems
• Experience with service-oriented architecture, microservices, or modular based architectures design
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Gitlab or Github

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize backend systems for Counter-Robot command and control products
• Integrate sensors and effectors, including radar, electro-optical cameras, infra-red cameras, radio frequency sensors and effectors, GPS devices, inertial measurement units, and lidar
• Develop data processing and analysis services to extract relevant information from raw sensing data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data trends, patterns, and anomalies
• Implement parallel processing techniques to enhance the performance of data processing and C2 workflows
• Optimize parallel execution, making efficient use of computational resources in a distributed system of systems environment
• Develop and maintain network and messaging services for seamless communication between various network topologies
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including domain experts, software developers, and business stakeholders to understand project requirements
• Work alongside data scientists and frontend developers to create interoperable solutions
• Create comprehensive documentation regarding the design, implementation, testing, and operation of the work that is completed

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience with Data Distribution Service communication middleware
• Have Java experience with Spring Framework or Open Service Gate Initiative framework
• Have Python experience with asyncio, FastAPI, Numpy, Pandas
• Have experience working on command and control systems
• Have experience working with military and open message standard formats like SAPIENT, ASTERIX, COT, JICD
