Remote Backend Team Lead

Requirements

• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills
• 5+ years of programming experience with PHP/Typescript as the primary language
• 3+ years of experience as a backend programmer
• 2+ years of experience in developing high-availability applications on AWS cloud
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (SOLID, KISS, DRY)

Responsibilities

• Be the point of reference for backend developers
• Plan 'One to One' personal meetings for proper follow-up
• Plan, organize, and lead team meetings and ensure that actions are taken based on team discussions. Provide opportunities for collaboration and expression
• Plan the team's global objectives
• Manage team vacations and other absences
• Identify specific training needs for team members and manage them (internal, external, or cross-training with other teams)
• Establish individualized goals to work on individual career plans
• Prepare the annual performance evaluation and conduct meetings with each team member
• Identify team growth needs and plan for new additions
• Support and organize the onboarding process for new hires according to company guidelines
• Organization, prioritization, and task definition
• Review of work and quality control
• Coordination of tasks, priorities, and backlog to ensure project deadlines and expectations are met: from design to production deployment
• Support and involvement in strategic project decisions and other departments: guide, align, and propose improvement actions
• Assist in implementing processes and propose appropriate tools for each task
• Provide guidance to the development department on code improvements and quality
• Code pieces programming and technical task resolution

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in managing development teams
• Clean Architecture, event-driven systems, and Serverless architecture
