Summary

Join MediaRadar's Business Intelligence team as a BI Analytics Summer Intern for a 14-week part-time internship (15-20 hours/week) paying $15-$20/hour. This internship focuses on building a comprehensive data report dictionary for the internal BI analytics and reporting platform. You will gain hands-on experience with Looker, Jira, and Confluence. Key goals include updating the data dictionary, enhancing your skills, and improving reporting clarity. The internship includes mentorship, regular feedback, and a capstone presentation. The role is remote or hybrid in NYC, and candidates must be located in the US.

Requirements

  • Must be located in the US to apply (Remote or Hybrid NYC - flexible based on candidate location)
  • Part-time: 15–20 hours per week
  • Duration: 14 weeks
  • Hourly Rate: $15–$20/hour

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing reports in Looker to assess structure, usage, and completeness
  • Migrate the existing data dictionary into a new, standardized format with enriched metadata
  • Audit and update the dictionary to ensure all existing reports are accurately documented
  • Identify and fill documentation gaps, including links to related Confluence/Jira documentation and report ownership
  • Update Looker report descriptions and standardize naming conventions for key measures and dimensions
  • Assist in cleaning up unused or duplicative reports (in coordination with end users and the Content & Design team)
  • Contribute to refining the BI team’s report creation and documentation processes
  • Support small, well-scoped bug fixes and enhancement tasks on existing reports
  • Attend daily standups and team meetings with the BI Analytics Reporting team
  • Deliver a Capstone Presentation summarizing accomplishments, impact, and lessons learned
  • Update and organize our existing data dictionary with detailed metadata and context
  • Enhance intern’s technical and professional skills through real-world experience
  • Deliver concrete outcomes that improve reporting clarity and reduce duplicative development
  • Provide mentorship, regular feedback, and performance evaluations
