Join Schrödinger as a Biologics Applications Scientist and contribute to improving human health through advanced computational methods. This role can be based in Germany (Mannheim or Munich) or remotely in the UK (Greater London or South East). Requirements
- PhD in computational chemistry, bioinformatics, structural biology, or a related field
- A solid understanding of the commercial drug discovery process in the context of biologics
- A deep knowledge of at least two biologics modalities such as antibodies, peptides, enzymes, nucleic acids (DNA/RNA), or oligonucleotides
- Hands-on experience with key modeling techniques in biologics such as structure prediction, free energy calculations, molecular dynamics, developability assessment
- Excellent command of English (both verbal and written)
- Willingness to travel
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific support to current and prospective customers, which includes software demonstrations, scientific consultation, and coordination between users and internal development teams
- Work with biologics customers to develop and implement modeling and data analysis workflows aligned with their scientific objectives
- Assist in resolving scientific and technical issues, including workflow optimization and configuration of modeling environments
- Engage in cutting-edge methodological scientific research and advise our customers on best practices for computational modelling
- Publish scientific papers and present at conferences
Preferred Qualifications
- Postdoctoral experience or relevant experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry
- Expertise in the application of machine learning approaches to biologics modeling and design
- Demonstrable Python programming experience
- Familiarity with experimental techniques in biologics R&D, such as screening/display technologies, protein expression and purification, affinity measurements, developability assays
- Proficiency in French and/or Spanish is a strong plus
